Dreaming Together

“What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives, we need to stretch our minds.” – Wayne Dyer

Exploring the inner terrain of money and pleasure, and the beliefs that limit your true potential can be a lonely journey on one’s own. I don’t recommend that path – I’ve taken it often, and it’s not pretty – believe me, it can lead to returning to personal default modes such as disappointment and failure. Everything you are living is due to a choice you have made. Now you can chose to play it safe, and stay where you are, or you can begin to look for ways to venture into the unknown – NO MATTER WHAT – walk to the edge and keep on going, despite your fears. To quote Anaïs Nin, “Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living.” What’s the payoff for doing this on your own?

You are looking to grow, to feel better about yourself and your life, to believe that you are a juicy woman who can attract anything she sets her mind to. And she needs a village to raise her. On your own, you may not have the resources available to stay true to your vision of Greatness – you may even be surrounded by naysayers, negative people, worriers who might keep you from it. Creating a support system, a positive community of like-minded people,if you will, is essential if changes in your life are to occur. Conscious change is difficult. It takes courage to look into the choices one has made without blame, shame or judgement. Know that when you change, so will your life – and those people who hold you back might just peel away.

“Birds of a feather flock together.” Who are you flocking with? Are these people uplifting or draining you? Have you thought that you may have to find a different flock in order to grow? Maybe. In the meantime, gather your village: Look to fill your life with people who:

1. believe in you – encourage you to “go for it”

2. understand you – even if they are on a different path

3. are role models for you – can show you the way to your full potential

4. pass along essential information – a lead, an idea…

Make a list of all of the people you have in your life currently. Are you top heavy on the naysayer end? If so, begin to cultivate your village. Don’t be afraid to speak up and ask for help – even if it feels unfamiliar. These are the people who will support and shore you up as you begin to make changes in your life. Let go of what is not working… without having a solution in mind.

Make a decision to commit to yourself, stick with it, expect wonderful things to come, and see how the universe knocks itself out to deliver.
