Declaring Your Superpowers

Let’s be honest. There’s a lot of crap out in bookstores and a lot of people acting like experts on lots of things.  (I should know – you ought to see my library- I’ve done my share of reading them.)

However, for the last two years I’ve heard this buzz about Danielle LaPorte.  She definitely has aroused my curiosity.  I wasn’t entirely certain who she was, but her work has now come out as a hardcover book  The Fire Starter Sessions: A Soulful + Practical Guide to Creating Success on Your Own Terms.  My copy showed up on my doorstep on Saturday.

I thought I’d vlog my impressions on it this week.  Here are my two cents on the very first chapter “Declaring Your Superpowers.”  Share your impressions – or funny comments on this version of my face…

The face was priceless Joelle. I like this. I like Danielle Laporte. I think she is amazing!

It is true. There are so many books out there by the “so called experts.” I didn’t want to be one of those. That’s why its taking me soooo long to get a book out. I don’t want to claim expert, but I have some insights in me.

I am living my passion regularly now. I find it fun and exhilarating as well as relaxing. There is still more work for me to do on me, but I’m getting it together. 🙂

WOW! This is so true. At 54, I’ve done allot of things that I’m good at, but don’t like. The 1st year is like…can I do this? A challenge, then 2nd year I find out, yea I’m good at this BUT I really don’t like it! Been there, done that. NOW I am VERY creative. That said I am on my 2nd year of getting my business started in an art industry. 1st year I had great ideas BUT I found out the general public wasn’t ready so this year I am rethinking what I do so I can actually make money…probably a good thing! OK, fiscally challenged is a good word for me. I’m also a USANA rep. associate. That’s the practical side. My sponsor says I have great ideas, but clearly not a very good way to spread my wings…so I am keeping my art studio for now and giving it a go. I’m thinking that the creative studio side of me will suffice my need so that I can do my USANA stuff. I have great ideas…just don’t like the mundane way to work it. So I do both! I don’t really read, an injury makes it very hard, but I have a friend that has read SO many self help books she thinks she has a PHD! I laugh and play along with her.
